Vocal Europe is offering a remote internship position for its Brussels office. The candidate should have a strong interest in research.

Vocal Europe is a Brussels-based Think-Tank dedicated to research on European Foreign Policy and Democracy. Through high-quality research and original analyses, Vocal Europe takes also closer look at developments related to European Foreign and Security Policy. Along with its research programsevent seriesMonday Talks, and Vocal Cast; Vocal Europe also makes powerful use of its social media tools- Twitter – Facebook, and it provides research and analysis on current debates in European Foreign Affairs. Our interns are an integral part of our team. Team projects are all-hands-on-deck. The positions are unpaid, but candidates will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, experience, and professional knowledge.

We pride ourselves on being an independent unaffiliated entity, which seeks to encourage genuine debate on EU policies. As such we are looking for an energetic intern to help us in our research activities. This internship will also consist of support and assistance in the publication, communication, and advocacy activities of Vocal Europe.

The duration of the internship will be 3 months. The period can be further extended for an additional month depending on the performance of the intern.

Requested Qualifications:

For this position, the Candidates:

  • Must hold at least M.A Degree or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate interest in the European Foreign Policy, Democracy and the core mission of Vocal Europe.
  • Must possess excellent writing and editing skills in English.
  • Proficiency in other European language is highly preferred.
  • Must be a fast learner, proactive, creative, able to work independently

Your tasks would include:

  • Compose articles under the supervision of one of the policy analysts for the publication
  • Engaging research efforts for at least two policy papers during the internship for the publication
  • Active planning and creation of social media content of Twitter and Facebook to engage with and grow our audience
  • Produce and edit layout and graphics (info-graphics, videos, flyers and so on); assisting to our Monday Talks and Vocal Cast series with key political figures ;
  • Update and maintenance of Vocal Europe’s website;
  • Draft and send out newsletters;
  • Providing support to the virtual meetings with partners and potential partners including civil society organisations, companies, and think tanks;
