With Peter Javorčík on European Strategic Autonomy and European Green Deal

In today’s podcast episode, we are pleased to be joined by Mr Peter Javorčík, Director-General for Transport, Energy, Environment and Education in the Council of the European Union’s General Secretariat. Our discussion touched on the interrelation between European strategic autonomy and the European Green Deal. Over the course of the podcast, Mr Javorčík shared his views on the role of trade in furthering the Green Deal, the evolving energy relationship between Russia and Europe, the importance of CBAM and the Just Transition Mechanism.

She holds a master’s degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Durham University. She has completed previous internships at the Democratic National Committee in Washington DC and at the Captain Planet Foundation in Atlanta. She spent the academic year 2018-2019 working for Durham University and representing St Aidan’s College’s undergraduate student body as St Aidan’s College Junior Common Room President. A French and United States citizen, I speak fluent English and French and I have a conversational level of Italian.
