As part of our podcast series supported by Science 14, we discuss with H.E. Mr. Ambassador Fuad Isgandarov of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of Mission to the European Union, about the EU’s support for peace-building and regional stabilisation in the South Caucasus. The issues we touched upon are the EU’s engagement with the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the importance of the EU Global Strategy for its bilateral relations with the South Caucasus and how the Eastern Partnership influenced the scope of Azerbaijan’s bilateral relations with the EU.

Andrei Stanciu holds an MA in International Relations and German from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and an MSc in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University, the Netherlands. His research interests include the politics of the post-Soviet space and the EU’s foreign policy agenda in the region, particularly in the areas of conflict mediation, cross-border security threats and democratization. Andrei is a Romanian native speaking fluent English and having an upper-intermediate knowledge of German.
